Greed is good but giving is better

Success today is not just about money, prestige and hard work – the 90’s “Greed is Good” mentality is no longer relevant.  Influencers and icons of 2017 are doing more than just getting cashed up and burnt out – they are enjoying a healthy, happy, enriching life and making the world a better place at the same time.

The next Women of Influence event is about being the best you can be, overcoming challenges and considering the needs of others.  Each of our panel members have their own story and reality to share with you how they became successful in their own right but are also making a positive impact on the world around them.

Christine Yates has worked and lived in London, New York and has climbed to the top of the corporate ladder as Executive General Manager of Australia’s largest Private Bank, NAB Private. Yet she has not forgotten what is important, keeping grounded as a Mum, dog lover and connecting people such as being part of the Australia Israeli Chamber of Commerce Senior Women’s delegation to Israel

Simone Fraser is a Barrister of Law, she completed her MBA in Paris and lectures at QUT.  Simone also has three young children, loves travelling and she and her husband, Andrew, are both in wheelchairs. “I was born with cerebral palsy, which was diagnosed at 10 months. So from the time I started primary school I have used a wheelchair.”

James Bartle may not be the typical WOI speaker, however the former welder and freestyle motorcross rider is not only building a successful rag trade business but also is making a significant impact on a huge social issue.  Founder and Director of Outland Denim, when travelling through Asia to source manufacturing contacts an encounter with an anti-trafficking group exposed him to how human traffickers prey on vulnerable young girls in order to service the sex industry.  Now, Outland Denim not only makes fabulous and iconic jeans but they also lead the fashion industry with their stand on human rights.
